Today we have had Shelia from the charity Mission Helping Hands, helping us begin our African Compost Project. This will compliment our African Keyhole Garden.
Our Eco Committee's first project was to begin preparation for the African Compost System. They cleared the area and dug the first pit.
Challenge! Prepare ground for compost heap.
Thomas saved the worms!
Lily enjoyed using the big spade.
Finally the pit was finished!
All ready for the Reception children to fill it.
Reception during their Forest School session, filled the compost pit.
We filled it with vegetable scraps.
We tore the veg up into little pieces.
We put in twigs and sawdust.
Our Stars of the day!
Super Sophia organised our Mud Kitchen.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
