This week we have been learning about different countries and ways of life. In particular we have enjoyed learning about Italy. We have looked at Italy on the map and we have talked about the different features of Italian culture that make it unique. We have had fun counting in Italian, we have tasted Italian food and we have looked the the features of the Italian flag. Perfetto!
As part of our Multicultural Week we have also welcomed a very special visitor into our classroom, Mr Mohammad. Mr Mohammad came to speak to us about the Islamic faith.
We certainly had lots of questions for our visitor! We asked him what happens at the Mosque and why he might choose to wear certain clothes. We talked about the similarities between Islam and Christianity and the shared rituals and beliefs that each religion has in common. Mr Mohammad also brought some precious artefacts for us to discuss and explore. At the end of the session we all traced our names in Arabic which looked amazing!
