Home Learning

At Leigh St Mary's we hugely value the role our families play in supporting their child's education. We believe by working in partnership with families and building strong learning partnerships that we can improve outcomes for all our children. As a team, we aim to support every child to reach their full potential both academically and personally.

In this section of the website you will find lots of useful information to support your child's learning at home.

Education Endowment Fund

Education Endowment Fund provide support to schools and have lots of useful information to support parents and families too. Here is a useful video to support learning from home during school closures.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is used in Reception and Year 1 to 6 to support Home Learning. It is a web based, interactive classroom that allows teachers to upload lessons, activities, resources and pre-recorded teaching videos. Children can easily upload their work to Google Classroom and can use the range of G-Suite resources such as Google Docs to hand in work to their teacher. Teachers can then assess and provide feedback to your children on line. Google Meet is a fantastic application that allows teachers to hold whole class virtual lessons.

Google Classroom and Gsuite Information for Families

Class Dojo

At Leigh St Mary's we use Class Dojo to support communication with our families in Years 2 to 6. Teachers can upload pictures and information about their class throughout the week and parents or carers can also message their child's teacher, should they need to share information with school.

Tapestry

Parents in Reception and Year 1 are invited to use our home/school online platform called Tapestry. This web based Learning Journey allows teachers and support staff to upload photographs, videos and provide assessment, comments and feedback about the children's learning in school and at home. Parents can also upload photos and videos with comments to provide support for their child's educational profile. It is super way of building evidence and tracking progress within The Early Years Foundation Stage Profile and Year 1 curriculum.
