Sponsored child Doreen
Doreen our sponsored child
Leigh St Mary's is closely linked with a charity called Mission Helping Hands which is a Christian organisation helping people in Uganda. Our links with the charity go back many years and we help an orphan girl called Doreen. We support her education and her board for the year. Doreen attends Bishop's Primary School and recently she sat her 11+ exams and we are waiting to hear if she passed them. If she has, she will leave the primary school and go to the local secondary school.
A little bit about Doreen:
She is 13 years old
She has an older sister called Catherine.
She sleeps at the school during the week
She loves to sing and listen to stories about Jesus
She has written to us and she says thank you to everyone for helping her have an education.
The school Bishop's Primary School is in a small town called Kinkiizi which is in SW Uganda.
