Welcome to Leigh St Mary’s Church of England Primary School.

Leigh St Mary’s Church of England Primary School is a warm, nurturing setting filled with happy children who love to come to school and are enthusiastic to learn. We pride ourselves on being a school family and we hope that the feeling of community spirit and togetherness runs throughout every aspect of school life.  

We want the very best educational experiences for every child, no matter what their starting point is. All members of our dedicated staff team strive to create a rich tapestry of learning opportunities through which our children grow and thrive, both academically and emotionally. We ensure that learning is joyful, engaging and enjoyable and that the children experience a broad, rich and balanced curriculum. 

We want our children to strive to be the ‘best that they can be’ in all aspects of their life. We want our children to have within their ‘toolkit’ the right skills to use when they move onto High School, to have far reaching aspirations and an ‘I can’ attitude.

We are a very open and friendly school and we hugely value the partnership that families play in supporting their child through their primary years. We have strong, open and trusting relationships with all our families and this is where our success lies.

Within all children who attend Leigh St Mary's, we endeavour to develop a sense of belonging to our school community and we hope that the values which we instil within them stay in their hearts throughout their lives. Our aim is that our values continue to make positive impact on each child's future long after they have left our school. 

We have very strong links to St Mary The Virgin Parish Church and within our Mission Statement we explain that our school ethos is firmly rooted in biblical values. We hope that through their time at Leigh St Mary's all our children will develop 'the roots to grow and the wings to fly.'
