Autumn Term

Our themes this half term are 'The Place Where I live' and 'Fighting Fit'.

8.12.20 - We used numicon to find the difference.

4.12.20 - We thought about the Christmas story and how the shepherds might have felt when the angels visited. We did freeze frames to represent this.

5.11.20 - In music this half term we are learning about Latin music. We listened to the song 'Oye Como Va' by Carlos Santana and discussed how it made us feel and what instruments we could hear. We then looked at percussion instruments which are often found in Latin music and sorted them into different categories.

5.11.20 - Meet APE. His name stands for Answer, Prove, Explain. We had an addition APE problem to solve this morning and did so well!

23.10.20 - We really enjoyed 'snuggling up' with a book today. We read lots of lovely stories.

6.10.20 - We had fun counting in 5s today!

30.9.20 - This afternoon in Geography we used an OS map to plan a route from our school to Leigh Miners. We then looked at alternative routes we could take.

25.9.20 - Today we put on our funky 'spotters' (glasses to help us with comprehension activities) and got out our highlighters to answer questions about a text. Quotes from the lesson 'This was the best lesson ever' and 'that was so cool'...Who knew guided reading could be so fun!

24.9.20 - Our topic in R.E this half term is 'The Bible'. We read some Bible stories and then did freeze frames for each one.

21.9.20 - We have been reading 'After the fall' in English. Today we made our own Humpty Dumpty hard boiled eggs and practised giving him commands and asking him questions.

8.9.20 - This week has been art week. We are studying the artist Kandinsky. We looked at colours that represent different feelings, we learnt about Kandinsky's story and how abstract art makes us feel and we experimented with different media to create our own concentric circles for our whole school display.
